About Rhianedd Guest House
Built in 1846 Rhianedd is an original building of Pensarn and retains its charm and character.
From the early days of people being able to travel by train, in the latter part of the 19th Century and into the 20th Century, the affluent gentry of industrial Manchester and the North of England would send their wives and children to ‘take the airs’ of the North Wales coast.
Horse drawn carriages would be waiting at the railway station of Pensarn and Abergele to relay the weary travellers to their final holiday destination.
Many internal alterations have taken place at Rhianedd over the past 160 years and a rear extension was added between the original building and joins on to the Coach House.
Breakfast here at Rhianedd is taken in our homely Residents Lounge and Dining Room on the ground floor. The ‘Rhianedd Full Monty’ is getting quite a reputation for its variety, quality and quantity! Vegetarian and special dietary requirements are catered for when ordered the evening before.
Rhianedd is less than ½ mile from the station and a horse drawn carriage would have been used to relay the families to and fro as it wouldn’t have been viewed as fitting for the wealthy to have walked this very short distance.
Deceiving as the front view of the house is the interior of Rhianedd is quite extensive. There are 11 letting bedrooms and half of these are large and airy and will accommodate 4 people.
Hygiene and cleanliness is viewed as being totally essential throughout Rhianedd and every care is taken. Daily room cleaning service is included in the tariff at no extra charge.
